Our Eyes to Your Minds: Challenges of the upcoming generation

Thursday, September 6, 2018
11:00 am - 1:00 pm

It is through the eyes and experiences of our younger women that we come to truly appreciate the challenges of learning the ATHENA Leadership Model ®.

Our two seed thought leaders for this month will be from the ATHENA Valley of the Sun’s Young ATHENA program. Ali McAuliff and Jennifer Equihua. These young women in high school and college are dealing with issues such as school safety, cyber bullying, personal mutilation, pressure for high grades and more.

Jennifer Equihua is a senior at Chandler High School, where she is involved with NHS, link crew, Red Cross, FFA and is participating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. Her hobbies include dance and playing in her church band.

“I enjoy opening my mind to new ideas and challenging myself to be better.  I strive to help others and plan on obtaining my medical degree.”

Ali McAulif is a senior at Fountain Hills High School, where she is Senior Class president.  She has been involved with NHS, FHFL, Teen Council, and Key club. She participates in Varsity track, is the Varisty Soccer team captain.  She has donated over 200 hours of community service and in her spare time works at a local pizza restaurant.

“A skill, beneficial to my growth as a leader, is building harmonious relationships. Specifically, on my soccer team, I have stepped up when needed, recognized teammates capabilities and mentored them in their shortcomings, and enforce positive thinking and attitude both on and off the field.”

Young women are seeking to make a difference, to be in service to the larger community of issues, to spread their wings, make mistakes and to be surrounded by those who will provide them with the examples for living authentically.

We invite you to join us for this luncheon event benefiting women of all generations.
